Curvy Back to School Fashion

I have been focusing on getting ready for heading back to school myself that I have been slacking in my Back To School Series. Since I’ve been slacking in my “plus size” styling posts also, I chose to do my fashion portion next. I came up with 4 fall trend friendly outfits that are safe for both high school and college students. I tried to keep it simple with pops of flare yet not too flashy.
First Outfit:

For my first outfit I chose to go for a casual yet chic look. I decided to pair a dip hem double layer top from ASOS with these cute medium wash skinny jeans from Macy’s. Then I accessorized this outfit with some eye-popping leopard print-mesh panel oxfords from Gargyle, a distressed leather shoulder bag from Forever21, a shamballa bracelet from Cutey, a written out word “LOVE” necklace from Styles for Less, along with these classy black clip-on earrings from Zappos Couture. I think this look is just something you can throw on fast and look chic at the same time.

Second Outfit:

For the second outfit I chose to go for a maxi skirt-free spirited inspired look. Although brights and pastels are mostly considered for that look I opted for darker tones. I paired this over sized dolman sweater from Alloy with this casual jersey knit maxi skirt from Target. Then I chose to accessorize this look with a gold twisted pattern cuff from Forever21. I also decided to give you an option to wear either a pair of black laced up boots or a pair of black laced up cut-out peep-toe booties from DSW. I personally would wear this outfit with the boots instead of the booties because I love the more casual/easy breezy vibe it gives off. But if you have somewhere to go after school you can opt for the booties for a dressier vibe.

Third Outfit:

For my third outfit I decided to create a “not your average rainy day outfit”. I say as long as it isn’t cold and it’s raining you can sport a dress with some rain boots. I saw this floral zipper dress at Forever21 and thought it would go perfect with these orange tall high gloss rain boots from Nordstrom. Then I thought I should accessorize this look with this structured small meader tote from DSW and these chloe stud earrings from Piperlime. Lastly to tie this entire look together I added a funky khaki trench coat from Romwe.

Fourth Outfit:

For my last look I chose to go for a preppy inspired outfit. First I wanted to go with a classic white blouse from H&M paired with a pleated black skirt from ASOS. Then I was like, “Oh loafers would go perfect with this outfit”, so I found these cute glitter flats along with these adorable blue flats from DSW which I think goes perfect with it. It adds a little pop of glam to the average preppy look. Then I though it would be a great opportunity to wear a backpack again, but this time not those boring Jansport backpacks. But a chic leather backpack from TopShop. Lastly for a POP of extra color I opted for a shiny headband from American Apparel.

I hope you all found these outfits to be inspiring and want to try them out for yourself.
Stay tuned for some hair tutorials this week.
xoxo Shanice
